Jeff married the love of his life on July 3, 2016. LeighAnne Brown and Jeff have many similarities in their past such as being in the military. She outranks him, at least in that respect. They honeymooned in Mexico in December.

Jeff is a deputy with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. This is his 11 year with the dept.

12/13/79 Graduated from Bear Creek High School in Morrison, Colorado in 1998. Jeff earned an Academic Letter all 4 years in high school. He was active in Yearbook and Student Government. He excelled in Latin in high school which probably led to his MOS in the Marines - Intelligence/Arab Linguist. Jeff joined the Marines right out of high school on July 19, 1998. After boot camp in San Diego, Jeff attended the Defense Language Institute at the Presidio of Monterey, California, for over a year and then went to Goodfellow AFB in Texas for intelligence training. He then reported to Oahu for his regular duty. He was deployed with the 11th MEU to the Gulf on the USS Boxer in 2001 and returned to Oahu - Kaneohe Bay Marine Base on Sept. 2, 2001, just days before 9/11.While on board the Boxer, Jeff received a commendation of "MARINE OF THE QUARTER" for his outstanding performance of his duties.

Jeff volunteered for a second deployment and went to Iraq with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit in February, 2003, and received his promotion to sergeant somewhere in the Pacific on board the USS Tarawa on the way to Kuwait. Jeff was in Iraq gathering intelligence when the war started. He knew Operation Iraqi Freedom started when he saw missiles and artillery flying over his head in the middle of the desert. He was caught between the Americans and Iraqis. As the Marines breeched the Iraqi border, he joined up with them and they advanced to UmQasr and finally on to An Nasiryah where the 15th spent the remainder of their deployment in May, 2003. Jeff was honorably discharged in September, 2003 and will remain on Inactive Reserve status until April, 2006.
